Por lo menos en Estados Unidos un estudio revela que el 87% de los dueños de un PS3, ven peliculas en Blu-ray, esto quiere decir que por cada 10 PlaySation 3 vendidos, casi 9 de ellos compraran o rentaran una pelicula en Blu-ray lo que habla de la importancia del PS3 para Sony en la introduccion de su formato.
En lo personal, compre la consola el dia que salio y a la fecha solo eh jugado un par de juegos, lo que en lo personal representa que la consola el 70% la eh usado para ver peliculas en Blu-ray llegando a una media de 100 peliculas actualmente contra 6 titulos de PS3.

Jim Jannard has posted on reduser.net that there will be a new firmware upgrade to Red One coming soon which will allow 4.5K, 2.40:1 at 30fps. Sweet!
For those of you who don’t know, 2.40:1 is super widescreen (a new high-def TV with 16:9 aspect ratio is 1.78:1). Check out the graphic comparting aspect ratios on Wikipedia, which describes 2.40 as:
35 mm anamorphic from 1970 onwards. Sometimes rounded up to 2.40:1[1] Often commercially branded as Panavision format or ‘Scope.

Y es que resulta que un grupo de Japoneses logro que un DVD logre almacenar hasta 42 GB, que serian 8GB menos del standar en Blu ray, al parecer solo se quedara en investigaciones y no hay interes por comercializarlos, pero no sea que Toshiba y su amargura, haga que vean la luz y con eso que sacaran productos para esclar los DVD¨s para que no solo se desplieguen a 1080p como lo hacen algunos aparatos actualmente, si no que se vean practicamente igual al extingo HD-DVD.

A few weeks ago I posted a blog regarding the Toshiba IKHD1 being ideal for teaching applications in hospitals. Here is an update on the progress of this remote head HD industrial camera during it’s implementation into one of it’s many ideal applications:
The Toshiba IK-HD1 remote head high definition industrial color camera was recently highlighted in the May 2008 issue of Biophotonics International© for it’s successful integration into a pathology screening application.
According to the article, pathologists, radiologists, and surgeons when looking at pathology slides, needed a new way to collaborate before deciding on a course of treatment.
